The Wandering Jew

Behold my blog, dear reader, and rejoice. Here shall tales be spun of the pseudo-daring adventures undertaken and mysterious meals consumed by yours truly, the peregrinating semite. Follow my journey as I sweat profusely in ruined temples, distant jungles, and smoldering volcanos. Walk a while with me and my various traveling companions, and, in gratitude, I shall endeavor to keep you well-informed and entertained.

Retrospective: How To Speak Australian

In addition to studying Spanish in Guatemala, we were fortunate enough also to receive a small education in the peculiar idioms and linguistical innovations of our fellow colonials in the South Pacific. Below, find a sampling of some of the words and phrases that we learned during our *other* language studies in Guatemala:

mozzie - mosquito
flannie - flannel
notcha - perineum, grundle, taint (this is the closest definition, as they have the same origin: "taint your..." vs. "nocha...")
full-on - in your face, outspoken, intense
ute - pickup truck
occa - sort of an Autralian redneck, kind of difficult to explain
front-bum - vagina
rubber - eraser
fuckwit - extremely serious insult to be reserved for only the most serious offenders; best used along with the qualifier "proper."
